Thank You from Organisers

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

By all accounts, this was a successful symposium. From the feedback we received, people seem to have enjoyed new ideas and the variety of points of view. We especially want to thank the Sudanese Knowledge Society (SKS) team and the many volunteers.

We also want to thank the individuals and organisations who made the symposium possible with their generosity (SKS members’ donations, Sudanese Medical Heritage Foundation, and Mega for Food Products).

For those of you who could not stay to the very end, the SKS recognised, with a plaque, the contributions of Professor Sondra Hale, to the formation and development of our Society.

We want to thank presenters, chairs, discussants, panel organisers and panelists, as well as organisers of consciousness-raising exercises (the film on “Sudanese Perspectives on Development,” the Privilege Walk, and the SWOT analysis), for enriching the program. We especially want to comment on the stimulating and diverse presentations that were forward-looking and theoretically and methodologically thought-provoking.

We were fortunate to have attendees who were spot on and who advanced the ideas we shared during the Q & A.

We want to remind you that the Blog contains the abstracts for and bios of presenters and panels.  Please communicate with presenters directly if you wish to request their PowerPoint or papers.

Thanks again for your participation and looking forward to engaging with you next symposium.
