Thank You from Organisers

Dear Colleagues and Friends, By all accounts, this was a successful symposium. From the feedback we received, people seem to have enjoyed new ideas and the variety of points of view. We especially want to thank the Sudanese Knowledge Society (SKS) team and the many volunteers. We also want to thank the individuals and organisations who made the symposium possible with their generosity ( SKS members’ donations, Sudanese Medical Heritage Foundation , and Mega for Food Products ). For those of you who could not stay to the very end, the SKS recognised, with a plaque, the contributions of Professor Sondra Hale , to the formation and development of our Society. Welcome to Symposium on Development

This symposium on “ A Critique of Development (or Deconstructing Development): Sudan in the Matrix ”, held on 30-31 March 2018, is jointly conceived/coordinated by Professor Sondra Hale and Dr. Gada Kadoda , and is organized in Khartoum by the Sudanese Knowledge Society and is sponsored by the Sudanese Medical Heritage Foundation . We offer these ideas as challenges to scholars and activists in analyzing Sudan’s human development capabilities, life on the ground, and thinking about possible futures.
